The day approaches when Biokovo Nature Park will become the home of the most attractive walkway in Croatia! That is to say, the construction of the Skywalk that began in spring last year will be completed this spring. Although it has already attracted a lot of public attention, Skywalk is still not open for public and it is strictly forbidden to walk on it.
The project is worth around 8 million kuna and includes the arrangement of the plateau and construction of a geological column and the skywalk itself, that is, a walking surface at the edge of a cliff covering an area of 40 m², above an abyss around 100 meters deep at the Ravna Vlaška viewpoint, 1228 meters above sea level. From the viewpoint plateau there is a view of the open sea and the concrete-steel skywalk platform in an attractive horseshoe shape with a safety barrier and a floor made entirely of glass! This unique and attractive platform will enable visitors to enjoy extreme and unforgettable walks in controlled conditions.
– The viewpoint upgrade – Ravna Vlaška Skywalk is the most attractive segment of the project being realised in Biokovo Nature Park called “Novi Adrion – Promotion of sustainable use of Biokovo Nature Park’s natural heritage”, implemented by the Public Institution Biokovo Nature Park.
The project is financed from the European Regional Development Fund under the Operational Program Competitiveness and Cohesion 2014 – 2020, based on the previously signed grant agreement. Project partners are the Public Institution Makarska Development Agency MARA and the Croatian Mountain Rescue Service – HGSS, which participate in the implementation – says Slavo Jakša, director of the Public Institution Biokovo Nature Park.
