Maestrale was created with the idea of introducing both visitors and the local community to the hidden corners of the historic town centre, the Mediterranean way of life, the city\u2019s architectural heritage, its narrow streets, fa\u00e7ades, and architectural details, as well as the wealth of local stories that shape Makarska\u2019s identity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The opening of this year\u2019s edition will be held on 13 June 2026 at 8:30 p.m.<\/strong>The opening of this year\u2019s edition will be held on in front of the Makarska City Museum, and will also mark the start of celebrations commemorating the significant anniversary of 120 years of organized tourism in Makarska<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n <\/p>\n\n\n\n <\/p>\n\n\n\n The central highlight of the programme will be the presentation of the video installation \u201c120 Summers \u2013 A Topography of Memory\u201d<\/strong> by Lina Rica<\/strong>, an artist born in Makarska who is now active on the international contemporary art scene. Through her artistic practice, Rica explores the relationship between space, memory, identity, and community, using video, light, photography, and other media. The musical part of the evening will be performed by the band Ljetno kino<\/strong>, led by musician Mladen Max Juri\u010di\u0107<\/strong>, one of the most recognizable authors and guitarists on the Croatian music scene. Throughout his rich career, Juri\u010di\u0107 has left a strong mark through numerous iconic bands and projects, and with his band Ljetno kino he has been creating a distinctive musical style for years, blending original songs, Croatian classics, and international standards into a relaxed, Mediterranean atmosphere.<\/p>\n\n\n![\"\"](\"https:\/\/makarska-info.hr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/06\/Ljetno_Kino_07_-1024x681.jpg\")
