On the occasion of Victory and Homeland Thanksgiving Day and Croatian Veterans Day, the Veliki Kaštel Interpretation Centre in Kotišina will offer free admission to all visitors on Friday, August 7, from 2:00 PM to 8:00 PM.
Visitors will have the opportunity to explore the interior of Veliki Kaštel, a fortress built during the Cretan War in the 17th century, accompanied by a professional guide. Following a comprehensive restoration, the fortress reopened to the public in 2021 as a modern interpretation centre dedicated to the cultural and natural heritage of Kotišina and the wider Makarska area.
During your visit, you can explore the multimedia exhibition spread across six levels of the fortress, learn about the history and unique features of the area, and experience a one-of-a-kind virtual eagle flight using VR goggles.
