Following last year’s edition in L’Aquila, Italy, one of the world’s most exciting mountain running competitions for young athletes – the Youth Skyrunning World Championships – is coming this year to Croatia, to the spectacular Makarska Riviera.
From May 8 to 10, the impressive landscapes of Biokovo will serve as the backdrop for top-level sporting competition, where young athletes from around the world, aged 15 to 23, will take on some of the most attractive and demanding trails in this part of Europe.
Steep slopes, karst terrain, the scent of Mediterranean vegetation, and unforgettable views of the Adriatic Sea make Biokovo a unique blend of natural beauty and adrenaline-filled challenge. This combination makes Makarska an ideal host for this prestigious event.
The program includes the Vertical and Sky disciplines, as well as the open race Absolute Biokovo Challenge, which also allows recreational runners to experience the thrill of running “above the clouds.”
