In Makarska, a specially designed Easter program awaits us again this year, organized by the City of Makarska and the Makarska Tourist Board, combining tradition, togetherness, and a rich gastronomic offer. Visitors are invited to experience an authentic festive atmosphere and enjoy local specialties prepared by Makarska’s restaurateurs.
The children’s program titled “In Anticipation of Easter” began on March 30 with a creative workshop organized by the Biokovsko Zvonce Kindergarten, during which the youngest participants made Easter decorations and decorated eggs through play and socializing.
On Saturday, April 4, an Easter gathering for children will be held at the City Sports Center, organized by Tinker Labs Makarska. The youngest visitors can look forward to a fun Easter egg hunt, and the program is intended for children aged 4 to 10.

The central part of the program will take place on Monday, April 6, at Kačić Square (Trg 4. svibnja 533), where the traditional open-air Easter breakfast begins at 10 a.m. Visitors will be able to enjoy a variety of delicacies prepared according to traditional Easter recipes. A special highlight is the preparation of a large fritaja (scrambled egg dish), organized by the Makarska Riviera Craftsmen’s Association and the hospitality guild, further emphasizing the sense of community and the region’s gastronomic tradition.
The festive atmosphere will be enriched by a diverse musical program. The gathering will open with a performance by the Makarska City Band, followed by klapa Muccurum and the reunited women’s choir “Marineta” of the Pensioners’ Association. From 11 a.m., the program continues with guests from Šibenik, klapa Sebenico.
We invite all residents and visitors to join us, experience Makarska’s Easter traditions, and enjoy the richness of Dalmatian flavors in the open air.
