Makarska will once again become the centre of outstanding jazz from 28 to 30 August. The 13th edition of the Makarska Jazz Festival brings three days of exceptional music, international stars and special programmes that connect the global jazz scene with young local musicians.
On Friday, 28 August at 9:00 PM the stage at the Monument of the Revolution will welcome Vincen García, a Spanish bass virtuoso and one of the most prominent musicians of the new generation, whose distinctive style has captivated audiences around the world.
On Saturday, 29 August at 9:00 PM the same stage will host the legendary Incognitoone of the most influential bands on the global jazz-funk and acid jazz scene. For more than four decades, they have thrilled audiences with their signature sound and outstanding musicianship.
On Sunday, 30 August at 10:00 AM,the morning concert "Evo mene među moje" ("Here I Am Among My Own") will take place at Trg 4. svibnja 533, holding a special place in the festival programme. Throughout the year, children and young singers work diligently with their mentors from the Makarska Music School, Božo Škarica and the Makarska City Band. During the final stage of preparations, they are joined by Ante Gelo and conductor Alan Bjelinski, who help them refine the programme through joint rehearsals while giving them the invaluable experience of working with top musicians. At the festival, the young singers will perform together with the Makarska Music School and the Makarska City Band under the baton of conductor Alan Bjelinski, while the programme will be hosted by Ante Gelo. For many of these young performers, this will be their first appearance on a major festival stage and an experience they will remember for the rest of their lives.
The organisers will soon unveil the programme for the festival's closing evening, completing this year's edition of the 13th Makarska Jazz Festival.
Tickets for the evening concerts are available through Eventim and at all Eventim sales outlets. They will also be available for purchase at the entrance on the day of each concert. Admission to the morning concert is free.
