The Malacological Museum is open to Visitors

The Malacological Museum of the Franciscan Monastery in Makarska has opened its doors to visitors today! This remarkable cultural institution, founded by Dr. Fr. Jure Radić, is one of the most significant in Croatia and home to one of the largest shell collections in the world. The museum houses more than 3,000 specimens of shells from the Adriatic Sea and across the globe and is renowned for its rich collection of shells, corals, sea snails, and exotic specimens from Hawaii, the Caribbean, Australia, the Great Barrier Reef, and many other world seas.

Summer program: During the summer months, the Museum comes to life with a rich program for visitors, placing special emphasis on educational tours, exhibitions, and creative workshops.
