The weather may have changed the plans, but not the experience — on May 18, Autentica Food & Wine arrives in Makarska. This unique gastro festival celebrates local heritage through flavours, stories, and the people who preserve the authenticity of the Makarska region.
Visitors can look forward to a full-day program featuring a local food and wine market, live show cooking workshops with renowned chefs, educational and children’s workshops, gastro tours, as well as music and cocktail experiences that bring the authentic spirit of the Mediterranean to life.

12:00 – 13:00 h AUTENTICA | Children’s workshop – We cook like our grandmothers – workshop with students of Stjepan Ivičević Primary School and the Makarska Retirees Association

Another special highlight of this year’s program is the presentation of the signature cocktail “Makarana”, created by Poetica Destilery to mark 120 years of organized tourism in Makarska.
The festival atmosphere and musical vibe will be further enriched by DJ Renky, who will accompany the program with his sets from morning until evening.
Throughout May, as part of the festival, restaurants in Makarska offer Dalmatian Marenda. For a special price of €12, enjoy dishes made with blue fish – a warm invitation to experience simple yet authentic Mediterranean flavours.
Gastro Patrol, a restaurant tour led by chef David Skoko and food blogger Tina Gazin, will take place on Friday, May 15, 2026.
